A Thank you from the Kimbe (PNG) Donation Receipients

01.07.16

It was great to receive some feedback from one of our recipient sites recently. From Kimbe in PNG

“Well, our first container from Rotary Donations in Kind, Brisbane, Australia, has arrived and a group of

Rotarians and supporters attended a working bee to move the contents of the container into a storage area

kindly provided by Malama Enterprises. We were also able to distribute one set of desks and chairs to a

school in an outlying area because the school had a lorry in town. These desks and chairs will be taken as

far as possible by road and will then be transported by small boats the rest of the way. Here are some

pictures of our working bee and the lorry leaving with the first Donation.”

“Here are some more pictures from our Rotary Working Bee on Saturday, August 15th. Many thanks to

everyone who came along to help with the work. Thanks to KBSA for allowing us to store the container in

their grounds. The container was a 40 foot container and we were amazed by the amount of goods that

size container can hold. We received educational resources and furniture along with equipment for medical

facilities. Many thanks to Donations in Kind in Australia.”

Fire Suit Donation to PNG

01.07.16

On Monday the 31st of August 2015 the local Firemen came with Chief John to pick up the protective gear that was donated by Rotary Australia Aid. They were very grateful to Rotary and couldn’t wait to put them on.  The North Waigani Fire Brigade in PNG gives us the thumbs up for the equipment donated by Queensland Fire and Rescue Service presented by The Rotary Club of Port Moresby and shipped by Rotary’s Donations in Kind in Brisbane. They were particularly impressed in getting a “Jaws Of Life” cutter.

These are some of the pictures of the men wearing their protective gear at the fire station.
